Devotional
When something feels dead, you may stop talking about it. You may stop praying about it. You may tell yourself it is safer to expect nothing than to hope again. Many women do this after disappointment, betrayal, burnout, or long seasons of unanswered prayer.
Jesus spoke these words to Martha in the middle of grief. He did not offer a shallow explanation. He offered Himself. “I am the resurrection.” Resurrection is not only a future promise. It is a Person who steps into your pain.
Today, your first step is not fixing what feels dead. Your first step is letting Jesus meet you there. The place you avoid is often the place He wants to touch with tenderness.
Name one area that feels dead. A relationship. A dream. Your joy. Your faith. Your energy. Then invite Jesus into that place. He is not afraid of it.
Prayer
Jesus, You are the resurrection and the life.
I bring You the part of my life that feels dead. I confess I have been afraid to hope.
Meet me with Your presence. Speak life where I feel empty.
Help me trust You one gentle step at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Devotional
In the Lazarus story, Jesus did not ignore what was real. There was a tomb. There was a smell. There was grief. And there was a stone. Stones represent what blocks life. Fear. shame. numbness. avoidance. exhaustion. unresolved conflict. Sometimes the stone is not sin, but pain that has hardened into protection.
Jesus said, “Take ye away the stone.” Notice the wisdom here. Jesus performs the miracle, but He invites participation. Your part may be small, but it matters. A phone call. A counseling appointment. An honest prayer. A boundary. A confession. A day of rest.
If you are burned out, your stone may be fatigue and overload. If you are numb, your stone may be avoidance. If you are grieving, your stone may be the fear of breaking down.
Today, ask God for one small stone you can move. Not the whole tomb. One small act of openness.
Prayer
Lord, You see the stone in front of my heart.
Show me what is blocking life and help me move one small piece today.
Give me courage to take a gentle step toward healing.
Do what only You can do in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Resurrection power is not quiet. Jesus called Lazarus by name. That means your situation is not too far gone. Your name is not forgotten. Your story is not finished.
Sometimes what feels dead is your ability to feel. You may be functioning, but not alive inside. Numbness can be a trauma response. It can be the body’s way of surviving too much for too long. Jesus does not shame that. He calls you back to life with love.
Resurrection often begins with one moment of honest response. Lazarus did not revive himself. He responded to the voice of Jesus.
Today, listen for the gentle call of Christ. It may sound like, “Come back.” “Talk to Me.” “Rest.” “Tell the truth.” “Get help.” “Forgive.” “Try again.” God’s voice brings life, not condemnation.
Prayer
Jesus, call me back to life.
Speak my name with Your love. Wake up what has gone numb.
Where I feel stuck, help me respond to You.
I choose to come forth, one step at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
