Devotional
Waiting can feel invisible. Life keeps moving around you while your answer has not arrived. People may not understand why you are so tired or why small things feel heavy. But Scripture tells you something steady. God hears your cry. He inclines. He leans in.
This is important for women who carry quiet anxiety. When you wait, your mind tries to fill the gap with explanations. Maybe I did something wrong. Maybe God forgot. Maybe it will never change. Those thoughts can feel logical, but they are not always true.
Psalm 40 does not pretend waiting is easy. It names the cry. It also names God’s response. He hears. He leans toward you. Waiting is not wasted time. It is time held in God’s presence.
Today, your goal is not to force peace. Your goal is to be honest with God. Let your cry become prayer. God can handle your emotions, your questions, and your fatigue.
Prayer
Father, I am waiting, and my heart feels tired.
Thank You that You hear my cry and You lean toward me.
Quiet the fear in me and remind me that I am seen.
Hold me steady today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Devotional
Waiting often triggers the need to control. You want certainty. You want a timeline. You want proof that things will turn out okay. But when you cannot control the outcome, your body may stay tense and your mind may keep rehearsing worst case scenarios.
God does not shame your need for safety. He invites you to trust. Trust is not pretending you understand. Trust is releasing your grip on what you cannot carry.
For a busy woman, surrender does not have to be dramatic. It can be small and specific. You can surrender one conversation you cannot control. One decision you cannot force. One outcome you cannot predict. Surrender is not giving up. It is giving over.
Today, choose one burden to place into God’s hands. Name it in prayer and release it.
Prayer
Lord, I confess how much I want control when I am waiting.
Teach me to trust You with all my heart, even when I do not understand.
I surrender what I cannot fix. I place this season in Your hands.
Give me calm surrender for today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Devotional
Anxiety in waiting is normal. Waiting creates open space, and your mind tries to fill it. You may check your phone too often. You may replay conversations. You may imagine every possible outcome. This is how many women cope, especially when they feel responsible for everyone.
But God offers a different pattern. A mind stayed on Him. That does not mean you never think about your situation. It means you keep returning to God as your anchor.
A gentle way to do this is to practice returning without shame. When your thoughts start spinning, you can pause and say, “Lord, I stay my mind on You.” You can take one slow breath and come back again.
Waiting is not only spiritual. It is physical. Your nervous system may need calm. God’s peace can meet both your mind and your body.
Prayer
God, my thoughts feel loud today.
Keep me in Your peace. When anxiety rises, lead me back to You.
Help me stay my mind on You instead of spiraling into fear.
Guard my heart and calm my body. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
